ABOUT THE ARTIST
Pauline Gallagher is from the Warlukurlangu Artists of Yuendumu, Australia.
She was born in 1952.
As a young girl she attended the local school and afterwards married her promised husband who is now deceased.
Pauline has 5 children – 3 sons and 2 daughters; and also has 15 grandchildren.
Pauline’s country is Pikilyi (Vaughan Springs), a sacred water hole located near Mount Doreen Station west of Yuendumu and approximately 350km north-west of Alice Springs.
Pauline paints the stories of Pikilyi Jukurrpa (Pikilyi Dreaming) and Mina Mina Jukurrpa (Mina Mina Dreaming) which are her father’s stories passed down through generations for milennia. The stories relate to her traditional country and its distinctive features and animals.
The sugar bowl is commissioned and made by Alperstein Designs, who collaborate with prominent Australian Artists & Designers, creating amazing Australian gifts and souvenirs.
